Identity Design
Dynamic Adaptability
Visual Design System

In the city of Edinburgh, Napier is often known as 'the other university' next to their old rival Edinburgh Uni. This feeling of having a chip on their shoulder and something to prove is integral to those studying there, and something that was crucial to the rebrand.

This sense of being proudly underdog was at the forefront of this design solution. The style of this rebrand is influenced by the feeling of Napier - hardworking, practical, and unpretentious. ENU’s esports society has a history as a formidable opponent and as such needed an equally formidable identity. As part of this, the logo features a dynamically adaptable system, allowing for an icon for the teams, as well as being incorporated into the logo for the society as a whole.

With both a casual society and competitive teams, there needed to be a logo system that represents each entity individually but could also combine into one mark.

Driven by Underestimation

The society being student-organised, needed to feel member-driven. Balancing polish and rawness to feel like something that new students would want to be a part of, and have a chance to make an impact - establishing a legacy that lasts.
