Edinburgh Napier wants to show off the pride it has for its graduating students at the School of Arts and Creative Industries. The university believes that its students are the real difference makers and wants them to stand out among the sea of other graduates. Much of the passion that students have at SACI comes from the interdisciplinary and cross-collaborative aspects of the courses.

The design solution, guided through research with students, centres around the core ethos of SACI - collaboration, passion, and pride. The base of this project is grounded on an adapted grid inspired by the Napier Bones. This grid serves as a visual cue that ties in the existing Napier brand to this extension, as well as uniting the new modular typeface and the layouts of artefacts. This new identity establishes Edinburgh Napier as the top choice for creative industry leaders to find new graduating talent.

Working in a group with some fellow classmates we were briefed to create a brand identity for the Edinburgh Napier degree show. The identity needed to feel inherintly Napier as well as showing the creative and collaborative nature of the School of Arts and Creative Industries.

As part of the wayfinding for the degree show, visitors will follow colour-coded tape along the floors to allow for easy navigation to the relevant courses. This visual motif was also explored into motion graphics.

The foundation of this design comes from a modular type grid that was inspired by the Napier bones pattern.
