A title sequence for a speculative television series adaptation of E.M. Forster’s dystopian The Machine Stops. The feeling of the book is one of a sense of detachment from the natural world and each other, existing in a sterile, isolated environment. Created using a mix of motion graphics and practical effects, to achieve a mechanical, ominous, and dystopian mood. The black ferrofluid acts as an analogy for the creation of The Machine, starting as just droplets, before amassing together and taking over the screen - just as it did the world.
